eHealth Africa Set to Host Second Edition of Insights Learning Forum
Abuja, Nigeria – July 25th – eHealth Africa is delighted to announce the second edition of the Insights Learning Forum, an annual event dedicated to advancing digital health in public health practice. The 2024 edition of this high-level forum will be held on July 31st, 2024, with the theme "Digital Innovations in Public Health Practice: Innovations and Impact."
Born out of the monthly Insights Webinar series, the Insights Learning Forum provides a platform for industry experts in the digital and public health spheres to exchange experiences and explore the latest advancements and practical applications of digital health innovations.
The world, especially developing countries, has consistently battled challenges ranging from climate change and food security to data management, with significant impacts on public health and disease prevention and surveillance. Specifically, Nigeria has recently endured outbreaks of diseases like cholera, Lassa fever, diphtheria, and meningitis, among others.
These challenges may be connected to relatively weak health system resilience and ineffective data management and interoperability. These factors significantly impact nations' ability to prevent or respond to public health emergencies. A forum of this nature brings together public health professionals, key stakeholders, and digital solution experts in one room to discuss the way forward.
Speaking about this year’s edition of the Insights Learning Forum, Executive Director of eHealth Africa, Atef Fawaz, reiterated that innovation is the key to unlocking new possibilities in healthcare. He said, “The forum aligns with our plans to invest in research and development to drive innovation in healthcare delivery, diagnostics, and treatment modalities.” The current health realities across the world is highly dependent on the ability of stakeholders to optimize existing innovation. Also the future of health and the world generally will be shaped by the quality of digital interventions and technology we develop to prepare for it.
“This high-level forum will bring together digital and public health experts from across the world to harness the power of technology and collaboration in pioneering groundbreaking solutions to address the evolving health challenges facing Africa,” he added.
Through a diverse array of plenary sessions, panel discussions, and track sessions, this forum will empower individuals, groups, and organizations to harness digital technologies to address emerging challenges and drive positive change in public health systems in Africa.
