eHealth Africa Announces Sylvia Adebajo as a New Board Member
Kano, Nigeria — May 30th, 2024 — eHealth Africa, a leading non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that Sylvia Bolanle Adebajo (PhD., MSc., MBBS) has joined its Board of Directors. Sylvia Adebajo is currently a Senior Research Adviser, Institute of Human Virology in Nigeria and the Country Director at Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation, Nigeria. Ms Adebajo’s role as a member of the Board commences with immediate effect.
Sylvia Adebajo is renowned for both her academic and professional experience in Nigeria and abroad. She is a graduate of Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she was also a research assistant. With over 100 journal articles and academic publications, Adebajo can be described as an erudite scholar.
With close to Three decades of professional experience in the Public health sector, Ms Adebajo is currently a member of the Steering Committee, National Institute of Health-funded Fogarty Program; an Integrated Network of Scholars in Global Health Research Training (INSIGHT). Having held other leadership and administrative roles within and outside Nigeria, She is currently a Reviewer, National Health Research Ethics Committee, Nigeria.
Speaking on the emergence of Sylvia Adebajo as Board member, Chairperson of eHealth Africa’s Board of Directors, Evelyn Castle expressed her delight saying “Adebajo’s diverse academic experience and professional expertise will be key to the organization’s strategic plans for the coming years”. According to Evelyn, “her giant strides and achievement will no doubt be a priceless asset in our drive to foster a culture of health literacy and community engagement”.
