Nigeria Energy Conference 2022: eHealth Africa hosts a panel session on “Sustainable Energy for improved healthcare delivery in Nigeria”
Lagos, Nigeria — September 21, 2022 — eHealth Africa is hosting a session on “Sustainable Energy for improved healthcare delivery in Nigeria” at the Nigeria Energy Conference 2022. In this session, our guest speakers will share credible insights on how we can improve healthcare delivery by providing sustainable energy for public health, and how PHCs can get the right funding support.
The aim of the panel discussion is to drive conversations on the need to have a sustainable energy source for public health. Lack of constant electricity at health facilities impacts healthcare delivery, and renewable energy is at the forefront of solving this issue.
Speakers on this panel are Dr. Abdulrahman Ahmad MBBS, MPH, Ph.D., the Director of Public health Sokoto state, Emeka Okpukpara Jr from Nextier, Mohammed Bello, Project Manager at eHealth Africa, and Dr. Julie Yemi-Jonathan. O, (MD, MPH), Country Manager at We Care Solar.
According to the moderator of the Panel, Atef Fawaz, Director of Operations, eHealth Africa. “ eHealth Africa has provided Renewable Energy solutions for public health interventions. This can be seen in the Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) that we built. We ensured that the buildings are powered with solar energy to ensure constant power supply, thereby increasing healthcare delivery and outbreak response." He says, ``For eHA, this is not just a panel discussion, but an avenue to speak about the benefits of having a sustainable energy supply for healthcare facilities and the consequences of not having one”.
